Traveling following the Nile river in Egypt.
The fall in tourism and the economic slump are affecting all sections of society. For the young, who were at the forefront of the revolution against a venal, corrupt governing class, life in al Sisi's Egypt can seem devoid of hope for the future, having witnessed a return to the bald old days of intimidation and autocracy. Some have given up hope and become despondent. Others continue to hope for a better future, potentially seeing another revolution in the offing. With the United States continuing its policy of propping up a military government in Egypt, many have lost their trust in Western governments in helping Egypt to experience real democracy.
